Overview
Footprint is a Task-based system. Here, we take a look at what that means, and how it is helpful to you.
Tasks
See: View Tasks
Everything in Footprint, every action from Receiving Inventory to changing a Status to Completing an Order, is represented by a Task. These individual Tasks carry a wealth of information about the operation being performed, along with a Status for the Task itself. This Status indicates whether a Task has merely been Created, or has been Planned, Released, Canceled, or Completed.
Tasks contain details ranging from the Material involved in the Task to the employee who is associated with it. A complete listing of the Task Details can be opened here:

Using Tasks
Because Tasks contain so much information, they can be used in a number of ways. Here are a few examples:
Identify Incomplete Tasks
Tasks can be organized by Status in the View Tasks section. This can help identify which Tasks have yet to be finished - any Task that is not in either the Completed or Canceled Status.
Track Employee Activity
By filtering the View Tasks list by Username, and organizing by Completed Date, it is possible to review the activities of a particular employee. This can be especially useful when scheduling workloads.
Entity Histories
By filtering the View Tasks section by a particular entity, or by opening the Task History tab of any entity in Footprint, you are able to see where the entity has been and at what times, along with any additional details listed.
Used in Workflows
Certain Tasks can be referenced in Workflows.
